Privacy Policy
OpenScreen (“the App”) is provided by its developer. We respect your privacy. This policy explains how the App handles device permissions and media-related data. In short: we do not collect personal data. Your videos and project files stay on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
1. What data do we collect?
We do not collect data. The App does not require an account or sign-in, and its core features do not depend on networking. We do not collect, store, or sell your name, email address, device identifiers, location, usage analytics, advertising IDs, or other personal information.
In App Store privacy nutrition labels, the App is categorized as Data Not Collected.
2. How are your videos and media handled?
Screen recordings you import, narration you record in the App, camera picture-in-picture, annotations, timeline edits, and exported videos are stored only on your device (for example, in the app sandbox and/or the Photos library, depending on your actions).
- We do not operate cloud services that receive your video content.
- Your media is not automatically uploaded to the internet through normal use of the App.
- If you choose to share an exported video with a third-party app (Photos, AirDrop, social platforms, etc.), that action is initiated by you and governed by that third party’s own privacy policy.
3. Device permissions
The App may request the following system permissions, solely for the related features — never for tracking or advertising:
- Camera: optionally record a front-camera picture-in-picture “reaction” bubble while you narrate, and overlay it on your video.
- Microphone: record voice-over narration.
- Photo Library: import screen recordings and other media, and save finished videos to Photos.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS / iPadOS Settings. Related features may stop working if permissions are denied; the rest of this policy continues to apply.
4. Networking and third parties
Core editing and export workflows are designed to work offline. The App does not send your personal data to third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
If you download or purchase the App through the App Store, payment and account information are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
5. Children’s privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. If changes materially affect your rights, we will try to provide reasonable notice (for example, via an in-app note or an update on this site).
